THE INTOLERANCE OF JUDICIAL ACTIVISM
“They would suffer irreparable harm”. That is what Federal Judge Fred Biery said would happen to the Schultz Family if they attended their son’s graduation ceremony at Medina Valley ISD.
What was going to happen that would cause this harm? Were they threatened with violence? Were they going to be verbally accosted? Were there insufficient handicapped accommodations to allow them to view their son walking across the stage to receive his diploma? No, nothing like any of that.
Is there a better way?
To start my blogs, I would like to state a disclaimer. All that I write is strictly from my own opinion and may or may not be based on factual data, and will only be conclusions based on my own observations.
I have been watching the news pretty regularly on the Oil spill. It can be distressing at times to think of the consequences of the mistakes made in drilling the well. What is more distressing are the actions being taken for purposes other than capping the well.
There is a dispersant being used to keep the oil and tar balls reaching the pristine shores and wetlands of various states. Sometimes it seems the actions taken just might be a little worse than allowing the truth of the spill to show itself.
If anyone wants to read the Material Safety Data Sheet on the web for Corexit 9500 here is the link. This is the dispersant being used quite liberally.

These types of actions seem to be predominate in our society today. Appearances have become more important than truth in all avenues of society. After a while it seems that everything is a caricature of itself. Truth sometimes hurts and exposes but always
allows for reasonable conclusions and remedies.
I have thought about the affects this Corexit 9500 might have on the wildlife living in the ocean and only wonder why there isn’t more concern about this substance than the oil spill. The oil is natural, and nature has a way to deal with it however slow it may be. The long term affects of applying Corexit 9500 is not known. In the MSDS under “symptoms of exposure” It does show to defat the tissue in humans. Makes one wonder if mammals in the ocean being exposed to this substance will no longer be able to swim normally or repel toxins in the ocean. Please read the entire MSDS and ask yourself why there aren’t safer alternatives.
Personally I am more concerned about this than the spill itself and wonder why the ocean is being used as a lab.
A Short Break
Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to put up a quick post to let y’all know we are taking a little summer hiatus. Alison and I have transitioned to our summer home up in the mountains and are entertaining family and friends. We are really enjoying those aspects of life in America which we are all trying to preserve with our conservative values.
I will be working on some ideas and our guest bloggers, Chris Younts, Johnson Brown and others, will be as well. Please subscribe to the Kenservative News and you will be in the loop when we get back to sharing our ideas and thoughts.
Have a great summer and let’s meet back here soon!

A Recipe for Liberty – Knowledge, Faith, Honor
What were the intentions of the Founding Fathers? As of late, we are hearing ever increasing discussion and debate over this question. Some of the actors are even suggesting the intent of the Fathers is no longer a valid consideration as we attempt to “democratically” plot our nation’s future.
Far from a scholar on the subject, I can but speak on my impressions developed from the small amount of knowledge I have acquired about what occupied the minds of the Founding Fathers. But being blessed with a good sense of perception I believe I understand what is at the core of their intentions for us.
The Unconditional Oath of Office
President Obama thinks that because he is accepting responsibility to fulfill a duty he swore an oath to that Republicans must compromise with him on Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR).
To me, this is like a policeman telling the Mayor, “I will arrest the people who rob banks in the future, but you have to sign an order pardoning anyone who has done it in the past.” Does it not reek of the policeman standing on the side of those who have broken the law instead of those whom he has sworn to protect?

You’re joking, right?
Okay…let me see if I’ve got this right.
There are millions of gallons of oil a day spilling into the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico threatening the environment in ways we can’t even conceive of. And to make things worse, the pristine shoreline of Louisiana is imminently threatened as well. But in order to take steps to mitigate the damage to LA’s shore, we must conduct an environmental study of the effects of those steps.
We have to be sure that stopping extensive damage to the environment doesn’t hurt the environment? If our government is really asking itself this question, then you might as well throw the towel in and head for the hills. Anarchy is right around the corner.
It just depends on where you stand…
I have found myself in somewhat of a quandary about how to view many of the questions we have been faced with lately. Questions about the Constitutionality of this law or that action. In times such as these and faced with questions so monumental to our future way of life here in the United States, I have spent a while contemplating on what the correct course of action is. Ultimately I believe the answers to these questions lie in how we feel about the meaning of our Constitution and what value we place on our American citizenship.
The TxGOP and personal responsibility
Today I received an email from the TxGOP decrying the near criminal behavior of the left for their actions taken in protest of Arizona’s recently enacted Immigration Policy Enforcement legislation. It castigated President Obama’s organization, Organizing for America, for their activities in support of, however trumped up that might be, the Austin City Council vote to ban official business with, or travel to, Arizona.
That’s great. I agree whole-heartedly that it is illogical and myopic to oppose enforcing any law. I also agree that OFA is a collaboration of socialist morons conjoined for the purpose of propagating the Progressive agenda.
Words v. Action
Every once in a while I am going to post stuff on here that ain’t gonna sit too well with some who think they are on my side of the fence. Today is one of those days. I’ll keep it short.
I am sick and tired of the people who spend all their time talking about what is wrong and preaching about what needs to be done. I am talking about the self-appointed experts who feel they’re making a sufficient contribution to the cause by pointing out what the rest of us should be doing, but draw the line at words.
Illegal Immigration Super Highway
Old adages become old because they stand the test of time. They are intrinsically true and will almost certainly remain so as long as the subject they address exists. I can think of no other “old adage” that exemplifies this idea better than “A picture says a thousand words”. And to that point, I would like to share a picture with you.
